Our goal as a raid force is to have fun, work together, move into ever more challenging content, and get better gear and progression for our characters!
Since we first started raiding we have evolved as a raid force and so it has been a necessity to evolve our policies to keep pace with the changes that have happened and try to accommodate and anticipate future changes.
To make sure things run smoothly, that effort is rewarded and structure is maintained in our raids for the betterment and enjoyment of everyone who is donating their time and energy we needed a fair and robust raid policy. We hope this update will clarify a few things for the older raiders and welcome new raiders with an introduction to our procedures.
Here's to continued success as we move forward!
Ascending Angels Raid Council
Current Raid times (Eastern timezone):
- Thursday 8 pm till about midnight
- Friday 8 pm till about midnight
DKP (Dragon kill points)
- DKP is awarded per successful event at 15 DKP per success
- DKP is awarded per valid attempt at 10 DKP per attempt
- An early bonus is given of 5 DKP if you are in, or have asked for, a raid invite 30 minutes before raids start.
- A reduction of 15% overall DKP when your gross DKP is over 200 points will happen at the first of each month. This will never bring you under 200 DKP ex. If you had 201 DKP your reduction would be 1 DKP, if you were at 1000 DKP your reduction would be 150 DKP and bring you to 850.
- Members are informed of their current DKP either via the DKP website or via an email sent out weekly. Talk to a raid council member to get on the mailing list if you currently do not receive it and wish to, or if you wish to be removed from the mailing as a non-AA member.
- If you raid with us for the first time you are allowed to spend 20 of your future DKP in the first week.
- All DKP earned in a current week is not available until the following week (with the exception of the new raiders who get the 20 DKP advancement.)
- DKP is earned by player and not by character or account.
- Leaving one of the primary guilds (Ascending Angels Knights Of Shadows Bane may result in zeroing out of your DKP, at the discretion of the Raid Council, which is decided on a case by case basis
Loot
- You may not win more than 3 pieces of gear per night. This includes visible and non-visible slots but does not pertain to spells, special items (non-gear).
- You may not bid for other players. You may bid for your alts and boxes. Although not an official policy use discretion on bidding over a main for an alt.
- You must be of the class usable to loot an item (or your alt), unless an item is going to rot.
- You may resign one of your bids prior to looting per night at no DKP cost to you
Loot Bidding
- Item bids will start off with the item being up in raid say with bids go (or similar wording)
- Players will bid on items in raid say (/rs), only putting the number they are bidding
- If there is more than one of the item, the format for multiple bids is dkp x number (such as 5x2 is 5dkp per, 2 total wanted)
- Raid leaders will (at a psudo random time) put up a last call, this means the time to bid is drawing to a close.
- Bidding will close with a message such as "bids closed"
- The winner is the person with the highest bid BEFORE the bids closed message, as seen by the raid council, and others asked to verify
- In the event of a tie where the winning bidders are tied, a /random roll off will happen between the players.
Channels and raid communication
- All raiders must join our general raid channels. The current channels are as follows
- raid channel (/rs) for seeing raid instructions
- aaraids:raid (everyone must join)
- aatanks:rocks (all tanks must join)
- aahealing:healing (all healers must join)
- Keep the main raid channel (/rs) clear with the exception of being directed by raid leadership for the benefit of the raid or for bidding on loots. All general chatter, frustrated outcries, and jokes etc. should be in our current chat channel aaraids.
- It is suggested, and very helpful, if you can join our audio channel as well. Currently we use teamspeak aeular.com
General
- All policies and procedures are subjected to being adjusted by the raid leader and or the raid council due to the variability of situations.
- It is a player's sole responsibility to inform raid leadership of variances in DKP and when a player brings a new alt or character to our raids that is not listed on the alts page (see link at top of page).
- Although we are a casual raid force and times may arise that you will have to leave raids early or join late it is unacceptable to leave our raid to raid with another guild with the exception of that being your primary guild and you are a guest to our raids.
- To get into the raid, you must send a tell to the raid leader. If you don't know who it is, anyone that is part of the raid council can tell you.
Raid Attendance
Attending raids is a priviledge, not a right, so treat others with respect, so you continue to have the privilege of attending. When bringing an alt/box to raid, if they are not on the alts page (see above), you must notify a Raid Concil member, so dkp can be handled appropriately.
When raids are full, who gets to participate in a given event will be determined by raid leaders, who use a number of factors, including leadership discretion.
Some of the factors the raid leaders use include (in no order):
- Regularity of attendance of raids
- Status with raids, which includes
- Membership in primary guilds (AA, KoSB)
- Longer term raiding member outside main guilds
- Guest member
- Whether the character is a main or a box
- Class benefit to raid
- Level and gear
Once again we want to reiterate the council and or raid leader, may change a policy or procedure based on a given situation. If you have any questions they may be directed to any of the raid council. Thank you and enjoy continued success with us as we move forward into the future.
